Hand in Paw’s Education pillar focuses on Animal-Assisted Education services that support learning, confidence, communication, and social-emotional development.
In schools, libraries, and other learning environments, Therapy Teams help create calm, encouraging spaces where students can practice skills, build confidence, and engage without fear of judgment.
Our Education services include literacy support, classroom enrichment, and specialized activities developed in partnership with educators.
Animal-Assisted Education uses trained Therapy Teams to support academic and educational goals. These services may help students practice reading, strengthen communication skills, improve focus, build confidence, and develop empathy.
Therapy Teams do not replace teachers, counselors, therapists, or educational professionals. They serve as supportive partners who help create positive, engaging learning experiences.
Hand in Paw offers education-focused programs that help students learn, grow, connect, and feel encouraged.
Sit, Stay, Read! helps students build reading confidence by reading aloud to a nonjudgmental Therapy Animal and caring handler.
The program gives students a supportive space to practice fluency, expression, and confidence while experiencing the encouragement that comes from human-animal connection.

School’s Best Friend supports classroom instruction for exceptional students through customized Animal-Assisted Education activities.
