Mark your calendar for the 17th Annual Mutt Strut! Hand in Paw’s signature spring fundraiser returns to Homewood Central Park for a morning of movement, community, and tail-wagging fun.
Bring your family, friends, and favorite four-legged companion for the Mutt Strut 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run, followed by a lively celebration featuring local vendors, activities, refreshments, and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow animal lovers.
Every step supports Hand in Paw’s mission to improve human health and well-being through Animal-Assisted Therapy. Funds raised through Mutt Strut help provide these services across Central Alabama and Tuscaloosa at no cost to our Program Partners or the people they serve.

The 16th Annual Mutt Strut was truly The One Where Community Came Together! With a little help from our friends, hundreds of humans and hounds gathered at Homewood Central Park to celebrate Hand in Paw’s 30th anniversary in true 90s style. From the starting line to the after party, the morning was full of connection, community, and plenty of tail-wagging fun. Thanks to your support, we raised more than $55,000 in critical funds to continue providing Animal-Assisted Therapy across Central Alabama, completely free of charge.
