Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community while spending quality time with your beloved pet? Volunteering as a Therapy Team with Hand in Paw might be your perfect opportunity! Here's why you should consider joining our mission to bring comfort, joy, and healing to those in need.

Make a Tangible Difference

As a Therapy Team, you and your pet can profoundly impact the lives of individuals facing various challenges. Whether it's visiting hospitals, schools, or nursing homes, your presence can bring smiles, reduce stress, and provide emotional support to those who need it most. The simple act of spending time with a friendly animal can lift spirits and create lasting positive memories for those you visit.

Strengthen Your Bond with Your Pet

Volunteering together can deepen the bond between you and your pet. The training and activities involved in therapy enhance communication and trust, strengthening your relationship. Plus, your pet will enjoy the extra attention and the chance to socialize in new environments. This shared experience can lead to a more fulfilling and enriched life for both you and your furry friend.

Experience Personal Growth

Being part of a Therapy Team is not just about helping others; it's also a journey of personal growth. You'll develop new skills, gain a deeper understanding of empathy and compassion, and experience the joy of making a positive difference in your community. The challenges and rewards of volunteering can help you grow as a person, fostering a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

Join a Supportive Community

Hand in Paw provides a welcoming and supportive community for all our volunteers. You will have access to ongoing training, resources, and a network of like-minded individuals who share your passion for Animal-Assisted Therapy. It's a fantastic opportunity to meet new friends and share experiences. The camaraderie and support from fellow volunteers can make your journey even more enjoyable and rewarding.

Flexible Volunteering Opportunities

We understand that everyone's schedule is different. That's why Hand in Paw offers flexible volunteering opportunities that can fit into your lifestyle. Whether you can commit to regular visits or prefer occasional engagements, there's a place for you and your pet in our program. This flexibility ensures you can contribute in the best way for you without feeling overwhelmed. (Having said that, we need more Therapy Teams willing and able to make daytime visits during the week!)

Enhance Your Pet's Life

Volunteering can be incredibly rewarding for your pet. Many therapy animals thrive on the attention and affection they receive during visits. It gives them an excellent opportunity to stay active, engaged, and happy. The variety of environments and interactions offers mental stimulation, which helps keep your pet healthy and content.
