Birmingham’s favorite dog-friendly 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run returns to Homewood Central Park on Saturday, April 11, 2026 — and it's going to be paw-sitively amazing. Whether you’re a serious runner, a casual walker, or just in it for the dog-watching, we guarantee a morning full of fun, community, and four-legged cuteness — all in support of Hand in Paw’s life-changing Animal-Assisted Therapy programs.

The 15th Annual Mutt Strut was a totally tubular success! With leg warmers on paws and neon spandex in full swing, hundreds of humans and hounds turned Homewood Central Park into an 80s fitness fantasy. Thanks to your support, we raised more than $53,000 for Hand in Paw’s therapy programs — helping bring comfort, connection, and joy to those who need it most.
