Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving back, is November 28th.

 

The Goal:

Raise $10,000 to help Therapy Teams provide Animal-Assisted Education to local students, helping them achieve academic and educational goals.

Hand in Paw Therapy Teams make hundreds of visits to schools each year!

Our Therapy Teams are powerful motivators for students in K-12 schools, after-school programs, and special-needs classrooms. During Hand in Paw's Animal-Assisted Education visits, Therapy Teams help children build reading skills, gain confidence, and foster pro-social behaviors. 

Hand in Paw is flooded with requests from local schools for visits from Therapy Teams, and we need your help to reach them all! 

 

This Giving Tuesday, you can make a donation to train new Therapy Teams to reach more students in need and provide classroom resources to volunteers to enhance the quality of their visits.

Here are a few examples of how Therapy Teams help students unleash success in classrooms!
  • Students read aloud to nonjudgmental furry friends, helping improve literacy skills
  • Special education teachers incorporate Therapy Teams by teaching life skills, speech therapy, social skills, and occupational therapy through the use of a special “Activity Vest”
  • Counselors utilize Therapy Teams during sessions with students to provide comfort and promote communication
  • Therapy Teams visit grieving students after the passing of fellow classmates 
  • Therapy Teams visit college campuses to offer stress relief before midterms and finals
