In memory of Jessica Franklin, Hand in Paw's first therapy dog, HIP offers you the chance to leave a legacy of love.

There are many ways to make a meaningful gift that lasts far beyond your lifetime. If you'd like to have a long-term impact and support the future of Hand in Paw, please consider designating a gift through your will, retirement account, or life insurance.

These gifts leave a lasting legacy that will be remembered and can lessen the burden of taxes on your family.

Leave a Legacy of Love

 

There are many ways to make a meaningful gift in the spirit of the small dog with such a big mission.

 

Will

Hand in Paw can be a beneficiary in your will in the following ways:
  • Specific Bequest: An outright gift either as a designated dollar amount or percentage of your estate could be specified.
  • Residual Bequest: Hand in Paw can be named to receive funds only after specific sums have been provided for your other beneficiaries.
  • Contingent Bequest: Takes effect in the event of death of your other primary beneficiaries.

 

Ready to make a gift? Simply use this language in your will:

I give and bequeath to Hand-in-Paw, Inc. ____% of my total estate (or $____). This is to be used for the organization's greatest needs or designated for ______________.

Retirement Assets

An alternative to a bequest gift in your will is to designate HIP as the beneficiary of your retirement assets by filling out a new beneficiary form from your retirement plan administrator.

 

Life Insurance

To use your life insurance policy to make a gift, complete and return to the insurance company a form designating that HIP receives all or a portion of the benefit associated with your life insurance policy.

Hand in Paw cannot serve as both the donor's advisor, legal or otherwise, and the recipient of the donor's donation. Also, Hand in Paw cannot provide legal or tax advice to donors. 

Donors are strongly urged to obtain the assistance and advice of competent and independent professional advisors.
